Schlitterbahn Waterpark is in the process of completing Verruckt Waterslide. Verrückt Meg-a-blaster will be the world’s tallest, fastest and steepest waterslide and will be located at the Kansas City, Kansas location.
Meaning insane in German, Verrückt Waterslide has 264 steps, is 17-stories tall and will drop at an astonishing rate of speed. Riders will climb the steps with three of their closest friends and situate themselves in a four-person raft before plummeting toward a five-story hill and finishing at the bottom.
BSE Structural Engineers provided structural engineering, analysis and detailing for the record-breaking Verruckt waterslide set to open summer 2014. BSE has previously provided structural engineering services for Schiltterbahn at many of their other locations including Galveston Island, New Braunfels, South Padre, Kansas City and their newest park under construction, Corpus Christi.
“It’s been fun coordinating and working with Schlitterbahn throughout the process of Verruckt,” Steven Busey, PE stated. “We took the challenge and helped create something many people will enjoy for years to come and something thrill seekers all over the world will travel to KC to try.”
